Renowned for being “The City That Never Sleeps,” Las Vegas is arguably the entertainment capital of the world. Whether it’s a once-in-a-lifetime bucket list trip or a returning visit, you’ll never be stuck on what to do in Las Vegas.

Can you convert your online casino A-game to the live arena and the glitzy Vegas gaming floors? Have you got the stomach to fly over the breathtaking Grand Canyon? Keep reading to discover these top Las Vegas attractions during summer.

Welcome to Vegas

The list begins with the iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada” sign. This legendary landmark has been greeting visitors since 1959.

Head south from the Strip to find the distinctive sign in all its glory. The best pictures are taken from the south, with the palm trees framing the sign. By day it shows off its awesome design by local artist Betty Willis, illuminated by the burning summer sun. But at night, the flashing neon lights are an impressive sight that truly captures the spirit of Vegas.

The Strip

The most talked about Las Vegas tourism hotspot has to be the Strip. A 2.5-mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard South, this is where all the action takes place. Mention Las Vegas to anyone and it’s the first image they’ll picture.

While there are a million and one things to do in and around the city, the Strip has the monopoly on attractions. Streetside shows, lavish hotel resorts, dancing fountains and some of the best concerts ever held in Las Vegas. The city has hosted many stars, including the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dua Lipa, The Beatles, Billie Eilish, Whitney Houston and Sir Elton John.

A leisurely stroll down the Strip is an absolute must-do in Vegas. Take in the sights of this busy boulevard by day, and experience the excitement of bright lights and magic by night.

A Gambler’s Haven

Las Vegas has welcomed players from around the world since the legalization of gambling in 1931. Lining the busy Strip are some of the most luxurious casino resorts you could ever wish to find. Whether it’s classic casino table games or exciting slots that get your adrenaline pumping, you’ll find it all and more. From penny slots to high-roller tables, there’s a game to suit everyone.

Vegas casinos offer an experience like no other. Where else can you travel to New York, Rome, Paris or Venice without even leaving the city? Yes, that’s right, the casino resorts here feature mini versions of these cities and their famous landmarks. Feast your eyes on the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty and the Colosseum or take a ride in a gondola while being serenaded.

Fremont Street

In the evening, head downtown to Fremont Street for an experience you won’t forget in a hurry. Under a 90-foot canopy that stretches around five blocks is a pedestrian-only section that hosts live entertainment every night.

A spectacular light, music and visual show takes place overhead several times a night while street performers entertain on the ground. Surrounding casinos and businesses turn off their lights as 12 million lights illuminate the pedestrian mall.

Grand Canyon

If you fancy a break from all the glitz, glamor and mayhem that is Las Vegas, why not take a road trip or helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon?

This natural and awe-inspiring attraction draws millions of visitors every year. It’s perfect for hikers, sightseeing adventures and wildlife spotting, with phenomenal viewpoints located at various lookout plateaus.

LINQ Promenade

A trip to the vibrant LINQ promenade is a must while visiting Vegas. Here you can take in a concert, go bowling, enjoy a flutter at the casino or browse the latest fashions. There are plenty of eateries and bars for refueling, too. Relax with a spot of people-watching while sipping a cocktail, feast on Gordon Ramsay’s fish and chips or enjoy some sugary treats.

However, for the daredevils among you, try whizzing across the Promenade from 12 stories high via the Fly LINQ zipline. It holds up to 11 people at any time and is capable of reaching impressive speeds of up to 35 mph. Its final destination brings you to the High Roller Observation Wheel.

This huge Ferris wheel is the world’s tallest, topping out at 550 jaw-dropping feet. It holds 28 air-conditioned pods, which hold up to 40 people each. Every revolution takes around 30 minutes and provides fantastic views of the Strip and beyond.

Hoover Dam

Another must-see attraction in Las Vegas is the Hoover Dam on the Colorado River. This impressive dam was once the world’s largest and reaches 726 feet in height.

Its curving facade makes for a breathtaking sight that can be viewed from the bridge, a guided tour or a boat on Lake Mead. It took five years and 21,000 men to build the enormous dam that straddles the border between Nevada and Arizona.

The Mob Museum

The Mob Museum is a hit with visitors of all ages. From Meyer Lansky to Al Capone, you can learn the history behind America’s organized crime and the gangsters who rained terror over the streets of Las Vegas.

This museum is situated in downtown Vegas within the former US Post Office and Courthouse building. Its official title is the National Museum of Organized Crime & Law Enforcement.

Stratosphere Tower

Dominating the Las Vegas skyline is the free-standing tower known as the Strat. It stands at an impressive 1,149 feet and at the very top is the Skypod. As one of the most popular attractions in Las Vegas, it offers spectacular 360-degree views of the city and adrenaline-filled activities.

From different levels, thrill seekers can experience a SkyJump of up to 855 feet. Not to mention the daredevil rides X Scream, Insanity and Big Shot.

Food For Thought

In between your sightseeing and adrenaline-pumping activities, you’ll need to refuel to be ready for the next attraction on your list. Luckily, Las Vegas offers a plethora of fabulous dining experiences, from celebrity chef-run restaurants to more humble burgers and fast-food joints.

Top picks include Wolfgang Puck’s Steakhouse Cut, The Peppermill and Thomas Keller’s bistro, Bouchon. The Bellagio also hosts one of the best buffets in Las Vegas
