When you play online casino games you have the luxury of eating whatever you like, wherever you like. But when you visit a land-based casino, why not take a break and enjoy a delicious meal at a casino restaurant in between having a spin on the slots or trying your hand at some poker or blackjack?

Let’s check out some of the best dining options when visiting a brick-and-mortar establishment. Who knows, one of these places may be the perfect place for a memorable date night out?

Top-rated casino restaurants in the USA by category

There are many acclaimed casino restaurants around the world, but you don’t need to travel outside the USA to find some of the best casino eateries. In this list we cover some of the most popular ones, organized by food category.

Seafood

You don’t need to live near the ocean to taste some of the best seafood in the country, but when you’re eating along the boardwalk in Atlantic City, you get to have the first pick of the best seafood on the East Coast.

One of the most famous casino restaurants along the Jersey Shore, which is synonymous with gambling and having a good time, is Kuro at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City. While the area might be better known for oysters and crab cakes, here you can enjoy seafood with a Japanese twist. Kuro’s menu includes dishes such as sushi and other fresh seafood delicacies which can all be paired with a carefully curated selection of Japanese sake, wines, shochu and whiskies.

Honorable mentions

If you prefer something a bit more traditionally American, you can’t go wrong with Bob’s Clam Hut. Sure, Bob’s isn’t technically a “restaurant” and may not promise visitors a fine dining experience, but they do offer good eating. From Bob’s signature-style whole clams and clam chowder to the local fisherman’s catch, you’ll find a delicious range of seafood served with a big smile.

Italian

What would the American food landscape be without Italian cuisine? We can’t even imagine, since it’s such an integral part of the dining scene. This is especially true in places like Atlantic City where a night of casino table games goes hand in hand with a glass of red and a bowl of homemade Italian spaghetti.

Capriccio is an especially popular Italian restaurant along the boardwalk, located at the Resorts Casino Hotel. Famous dishes here include gnocchi, gorgeously fresh pasta and classic chicken parmigiana, which can all be enjoyed with a fabulous view of the surrounding city. Capriccio has received numerous awards for its excellent Italian food, including the Best US Casino Restaurant by USA TODAY’s 10Best.com for multiple years in a row.

Honorable mentions

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino also offers top-rated Italian fare at Il Mulino where they focus on authentic Italian dishes. Another great restaurant is Domenica in New Orleans. This location takes the best of Italy – think traditional Italian dishes such as lasagne and ravioli and combines it with local favorites and flavors including grilled octopus and squid ink tagliolini.

Fine dining

Moving on from fresh fish and fresh pasta, there are many incredible fine-dining options at casino restaurants across the USA, not least in Las Vegas. At the Bellagio Hotel & Casino, for example, you’ll find Picasso which offers exquisite French cuisine favorites such as lobster salad, foie gras and succulent beef filet. The thoughtful placement of a selection of Picasso’s finest artworks adds to the wonderful ambiance.

Honorable mentions

Other famous fine-dining restaurants in Vegas that form part of gambling establishments include Top of the World at the STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod and Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace. Eating at The STRAT is particularly exciting because the 800ft-high eatery revolves 360 degrees every 80 minutes. You get to take in an expansive view of the city while you’re dining on exquisitely presented surf and turf dishes, including stuffed roasted lobster tail and Tomahawk chop. Check out these other great things to do in Vegas while you’re enjoying the best fine dining in the city.

Vegetarian/vegan

Vegetarian and vegan dining is becoming ever more popular and both options are well catered for on many casino restaurant menus. For dedicated plant-based fare, you can try the Terrace Pointe Café at the Wynn Las Vegas which is known for its delicious vegan chicken and waffles. While not a vegan-only restaurant, they do have a variety of other vegan dishes such as cast iron chocolate raspberry pancakes, a vegan huevos rancheros skillet and a to-die-for vegan Asian salad.

Honorable mentions

The Venetian and Palazzo hotels are also vegan-friendly and you’ll find the Strip’s first all-out vegan restaurant at the Venetian. Headed up by Chef Pete Chione, it’s called Truth & Tonic and describes itself as a “Vegan Wellness Café.” Choose between favorites such as tacos stuffed with guacamole and avocado or the popular breakfast option coconut French toast.

Asian food

Asian cuisine is diverse and many different regional cuisines are on offer throughout the USA from fine dining to super-casual slurping out of noodle bowls.

At the Bellagio you can choose from high-end Japanese cuisine at Yellowtail Japanese Restaurant & Lounge or Cantonese, Szechuan and Hunan delights at Jasmine. For a more laid-back experience, you could try street-food-inspired noodle dishes from all over Asia at Noodles, which serves dishes from Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, China and Vietnam.

Honorable mentions

A famous Asian restaurant you might want to visit straight after you play the best casino games is Mizumi at the Wynn Las Vegas where you should try the 50-hour Wagyu veal cheek or the confit of Japanese ocean trout. Or, book a table at Kuro in Atlantic City, which we mentioned above as a top pick in the seafood category, but which also serves excellent Asian cuisine.
