Renowned for being Canada’s economic hub, there’s much more to Ontario than just the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This province is also known for its breathtaking landscapes and picturesque natural beauty, so it’s no wonder that it offers both locals and travelers alike endless Instagrammable moments with its delightful scenery as the backdrop.

Those who enjoy immersive nature-themed slots at an online casino are bound to fall in love with the live version of the graphics — where the splendor of lakes, mountains and forests come to life. There are many beautiful places in Ontario that are worth experiencing and one of the best ways to do so is by embarking on a road trip.

Here are four of the most beautiful routes in Ontario.

1. Highway 60 Corridor Through Algonquin Park

Spanning approximately 60 miles, you need about four hours for an Ontario road trip along this route. It goes without saying that you’ll get the best of the natural splendor that the area has to offer, but you may also get up close and personal with wildlife if you take this drive in Ontario on a good day.

To get the most out of this experience, you could opt to spend the night at a campground to improve your chances of seeing some of the more than 30 species that reside along this route. Alternatively, if you’re taking a day trip, you could spend some time at the beach either having a picnic or simply marveling at the gushing waves. This route is quieter in the spring, which may be the best time to visit if you want to relax and unwind without interruptions.

Although this is a commonly enjoyed route, it’s still a dirt road, so give some thought to whether or not your vehicle can handle the potential hazards.

2. Niagara Falls to Niagara-on-the-Lake on the Niagara Parkway

Undoubtedly one of the best scenic drives in Ontario, this route is relatively short but packed with treats for the eyes and mind. Spanning approximately 26 miles and taking at least 30 minutes to complete, this drive starts off with a view of the renowned Niagara Falls, a group of three majestic and captivating waterfalls.

As you continue along southern Ontario, the sheer beauty of nature will have you marveling at every sight. Along the way, you can expect to see cliffs and agricultural beauty, including wine farms. To make the most of the journey, you can stop at the roadside produce stands to grab a quick bite en route, which will enhance the experience and sightseeing overall. The best time of the year to visit Niagara Falls is from May to September, which is when you can experience the best of the region.

3. Sault Ste. Marie to Thunder Bay

The expansive northern region of Ontario is truly a feast for sore eyes and this drive in particular spans more than 400 miles. With so much to do and explore, the eight-hour drive may only offer you the tip of the iceberg and majestic Ontario views. For a truly complete and holistic experience, you may want to spend a few days exploring the wilderness and charm of Ontario.

Some of the key attractions you can expect to see along this route are the 25-foot Chippewa Falls, Batchawana Bay Provincial Park and Pancake Bay, just to name a few. All of these landmarks are family-friendly and ideal for a peaceful drive with loved ones. To truly excite the little ones, you could stop at the famed Winnie The Pooh statue in White River for some photo memories. This is also said to be where the bear that inspired the character was birthed.

While the area is indeed quite large and you may want to keep exploring uninterrupted, bear in mind that the gas stations are far apart. It’s best to fill up when you can along this route to avoid possibly getting stuck along the way. The best time to take on this drive is said to be in summer, which is when the roads are dry. Should you decide to embark on this drive in wet seasons, be mindful that your hiking plans may be marred by the weather because the trails end up being too slippery and potentially dangerous in such situations.

You may also find yourself in close proximity to wildlife and should therefore be aware at all times and avoid driving too early in the morning or too late at night.

4. Gananoque and the Thousand Islands

Spanning nearly 100 miles, this drive is one that you need to specially set some time aside for. In fact, give yourself one full day to explore the wonders and beauty of this part of Ontario. While the drive itself could take just one and a half hours, you don’t want to miss out on the unique and fun things to do along this route. These include cycling, hiking and boating, to name just a few.

You have the option to start your trip off at Panache Bakery if you enjoy confectionary treats to power you through the extensive drive. Other stops along the way include Gray Beach, Landon Bay and the Donevan Trail. Because of the many water activities on offer along this route, many people opt to go during the warmer seasons to enjoy the full experience. Summertime and spring are widely touted as the best time of the year to explore this route.
