While I’ve built my brand and reputation about being a fan and player of slots (and I certainly am), that doesn’t mean I don’t like to enjoy other types of casino games as well.

One area of that is table games – while I don’t showcase it too often, I definitely enjoy the ability to play table games. I’m particularly a fan of playing table games with a live dealer, which adds a fun social element.

One exciting part about BetMGM Casino is that there’s a strong variety of live dealer casino game options, some replicating the options you’ll find in a physical casino, with others offering something brand new.

Exploring Online Table Games

Let’s start with traditional table game options, which is a great place to begin if you’re already familiar with the options found in most physical casinos.

These include games like Blackjack, Craps and Roulette, as well as some more modern table options like Three Card Poker.

Live Dealer games tend to come in two forms:

  • Shared hands: All of us who are playing a particular game share the same hand. In the case of Blackjack, for example, everyone starts with the same two cards. More cards are dealt for those who choose to hit, split and double, while those who stand lock in what their hand was at that point. Because these games are serving many players at once, they often come with a lower minimum bet requirement, often as low as $1 per hand!
  • Own hands: Each player is dealt their own hand, meaning there’s a set number of spots at the table available to play, just like at a physical casino. These tend to have higher minimum bet requirements to reflect that setup.

Beyond these basic differences, there can also be alternative variations of games, such as games with side bets, or variations (like Lightning Roulette) where the payouts work a bit differently, adding in bigger multipliers for a chance at larger wins.

Savvy gambler tip: Check the pay tables if there are multiple options of your game of choice with similar bet levels – sometimes the rules on one version may be more advantageous than another! For instance, if you have a choice between a roulette table that has one, two or three zeroes, less zeroes are always better, as it increases the chances that your number will hit, and will reduce your expected loss over time.

Big Wheel Options

Another feature that’s growing in popularity is the mix of Live Dealer big wheel games, like the Crazy Time game, which I had the privilege of touring at the studio before their launch as they were building it out for Michigan players. There is also a video of me playing the Crazy Time game on my livestream when it first launched.

A live dealer keeps the proceedings going, and you can bet on various outcomes, including bonuses that can offer some real win potential! Plus it is more consistently paced, as opposed to playing by yourself, which can be a relaxing rhythm.

Playing on a Budget

One great thing about online casino table games, including Live Dealer options, is that the minimum bet can often be less than at a physical casino. This means you can practice or get to know the game at your own pace, and on a budget, before playing at a physical casino.

And when playing on BetMGM Casino, you earn BetMGM Reward Points, which you can use for online bonuses, or choose to convert into MGM Reward Points, which you can redeem for dining, entertainment and more at your favorite MGM Resorts property! So regardless of where you plan to play, you can be rewarded.
