Fall is one of the most beautiful times of year in the USA. There are so many different places to see seasonal foliage – from national parks to your own backyard and everywhere in between. We’ve rounded up some of the best fall landscapes that will take your breath away. And after you’ve enjoyed a fun-filled day of adventures and seeking out the best spots, why not sit back and relax with your favorite online casino games? You could even extend the “outdoor” experience by playing a jungle-themed casino slot game!

But before we get ahead of ourselves, first you’ll need to choose a destination. Here are our six picks for a stunning fall experience in the USA.

 1. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee

The Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee put on a spectacular show of color. It starts in early October in higher altitudes. By mid-November, the low-lying areas are also covered in displays of yellow and orange. It offers an abundance of opportunities for tourists and locals, including taking in the natural scenic beauty or exploring its wildlife habitats. The Great Smoky Mountains – or simply, “the Smokies” – is the most visited national park in the US, and home to many diverse ecosystems. This makes it a particularly appealing destination for travelers interested in spotting animals such as elk, black bears, and even wild turkeys.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is widely known for its breathtaking views that can be seen from some of its more famous peaks, including Mount LeConte – the third-highest in the Smokies. Mount LeConte has six hiking trails with a range of difficulties. Wander through caves, seek out glittering waterfalls, and take in the stunning scenery and fall hues from the summit.

2. Plymouth County, Massachusetts

The fall foliage in New England – comprising Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont – provides a vibrant display of colors from yellow to red that’s famous the world over. One great place to enjoy fall is in Massachusetts because you can combine sightseeing with visiting one of the many memorials scattered across the state. A popular fall destination is Plymouth County, with eye-catching displays of crimson and gold as far as the eye can see. Plymouth was the site of the colony founded in 1620 by the Mayflower Pilgrims, where New England was first established. While you’re there, you could maybe sign up for a cranberry-harvesting tour or check out Plymouth Rock. It’s said to be the point where the Pilgrims actually disembarked all those centuries ago!

3. Stowe, Vermont

Fall foliage in Stowe is stunning. This New England town in Lamoille County is called Fall’s Color Capital for a reason. The area’s many beautiful plants serve up a fantastic diversity of color during the season. Striking shades of yellow, orange, red, and brown begin to emerge in early September through mid-October. Explore roads less traveled, go on a guided tour to local breweries and distilleries, or rent a canoe on the local Waterbury Reservoir and take in the legendary views. If you’d like a bird’s-eye view and you’re brave enough, steel your nerves… and go on a zip-line canopy tour!

4. Columbia River Gorge, Oregon

Nestled between Washington and Oregon, you’ll find the Columbia River Gorge. As you’d imagine, fall is prime visiting time and boasts those explosions of color that make perfect Insta photos. The gorge has spectacular waterfalls framed by magical shades. Go on a hike, take a scenic water cruise, or explore the kaleidoscope of hues on horseback!

5. White Mountains, New Hampshire

The White Mountains in New Hampshire offer picturesque views of fall foliage. The peak season typically lasts anywhere from late September to mid-October. Hikes in the White Mountains are quite something – they take visitors back in time while also providing them with magnificent views.

High on your to-do list should be the Mount Washington Cog Railway, a scenic railway that’s been operating for more than 150 years. It takes passengers on a dramatic ascent right to the summit of the highest peak in the White Mountains – its namesake – at 6,288ft above sea level at the summit!

And for one of the best fall foliage displays in the entire country, we highly recommend a drive down to the tree-lined Kancamagus Scenic Byway. Be mesmerized by the forest and incredible views of this mountain range and the impressive Rocky Gorge. Camp it out, if that’s your thing, and go on a hike for an experience you’ll never forget. It will most probably be the highlight of your trip!

6. Shenandoah National Park, Virginia

Shenandoah National Park is located north of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The best time to view fall foliage is in October. Visitors to this national park – a mere 75 miles or so away from Washington DC – are treated to many awe-inspiring natural views throughout their journey.

One of the most popular areas is Skyline Drive, a scenic byway that winds along the spine of the mountains. Some of the USA’s most beautiful forests are located here, and if you time your visit well, you’ll witness great mosaic displays of fall color with all the shades from dreamy yellows to deep reds.

The national park is also known for amazing stargazing experiences! Visitors can spend their nights exploring this beautiful part of the country by staying at one of the unique campgrounds. There are also several scenic viewing opportunities available, such as Big Meadows – a large, grassy meadow flanked by the surrounding treescapes.
