Being Able To Set and Change Deposit Limits
Players can set a daily, weekly, monthly or combined limit on what they can spend under Responsible Gaming Limits on their account. These limits will come into effect immediately on first set-up while increasing or disabling these limits will take 24 hours to come into effect.
Teaching Players To Identify if They Have a Gambling Problem
Players can complete a questionnaire from 800gambler.org that will help them identify if they have a gambling problem. They can also reach out to BetMGM’s Responsible Gambling Team or customer support for assistance.
Enabling Players To Take a Time-Out or Close Their Account
Players can give themselves a “timeout” through the Self Exclusion features or by contacting customer support, or can even opt to close their accounts if necessary.
Providing Players With Additional Support
BetMGM also includes information on how to contact problem gambling associations and support lines in a player’s state and offers additional support through their Responsible Gambling Team and customer support.
BetMGM also provides advice on how to gamble responsibly on their blog, with players able to find information on how to gamble safely and where to seek assistance in their Responsible Gambling Guide.
BetMGM Takes Further Measures To Promote Responsible Gambling
In addition to these and other systems, in February 2023 BetMGM announced that they will be taking further steps to promote responsible gambling through more prominent messaging in their advertising and marketing content. This messaging would be featured on their app, as well as a variety of other media including billboards, print, radio, social media channels, signage at its various locations and TV. This kicked off in March in Problem Gambling Awareness Month.
As BetMGM continues to expand to new jurisdictions, responsible gaming education remains a key focus. BetMGM is proud to provide resources to help customers play responsibly including GameSense, an industry-leading program developed and licensed to MGM Resorts by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. Through the integration within BetMGM’s mobile and desktop platforms, customers can receive the same GameSense experience they have grown to count on at MGM Resorts properties nationwide. This complements BetMGM’s already existing responsible gaming tools which serve to provide customers with an entertaining and safe digital experience.
