To find the best states for casino tourism, we started with a list of the 43 U.S. states with casinos and ranked them 1 to 43 based on 8 factors that would be important to casino tourism. To note, this excludes Alaska, Hawaii, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. We then assigned weights to each factor depending on how important it would be to casino tourism. Based on those weights, each state we analyzed was given a score out of 100.
