As the year winds down and the holiday spirit fills the air, people around the U.S. start to take to their keyboards and search for all things Christmas. But which state is the most excited for Christmas this year?
BetMGM Casino produced a study evaluating the search trends of 30 Christmas keywords in each state to determine which were most excited for Christmas. From searches about Christmas trees, decorations and movies to Santa tracking, Elf on the Shelf and Santa Claus himself, there is clearly a lot to be excited about.

Methodology:
BetMGM Casino analyzed 30 Christmas-related keywords using Google Trends data for all U.S. states. The data was collected between November 1, 2025, and November 28, 2025, to identify which state shows the highest search activity for these keywords overall.
Formula:
For each state, the search interest scores for all 30 keywords were summed and then divided by 30 to calculate an average interest score for all things Christmas. This average represents the overall search interest for Christmas-related keywords in each state. Based on search trends, the state with the highest average score was determined to be the most excited about Christmas.
