The Rules Of Crapless Craps
The pass line bet is the most fundamental bet in both conventional craps and crapless craps and here are the rules for this bet in crapless craps:
- The first roll is known as the “come-out roll.”
- Toss a seven on the come out roll, and the pass bet will win.
- If a seven isn’t rolled, then the total of the roll becomes the “point.”
- The dice are rolled once again.
- If the dice roll produces the total number/point established in the previous roll, then pass bets win and will be paid even money.
- If the outcome of the second roll is a seven, then pass bets lose.
- If the total of the second roll is anything but a seven or the established point, then nothing happens and you can choose to end the game or roll again.
Keep in mind that if a 2, 3, 11 or 12 is rolled in the come-out roll, it’s likely that the pass bet will lose in the next roll. This is simply because these numbers are far less likely to be rolled than a seven.
Crapless Craps vs. Craps
If you’re wondering just how the above rules differ from those of traditional craps, you’re not alone. But don’t panic – it’s a lot more simple than you might think.
Simply put, the main difference between the two sets of rules is that in traditional craps you can lose in the come-out roll while in crapless craps you can’t.
This is because in traditional craps, the 11 and 7 are both winning numbers for pass bets, while the pass bet will instantly lose if they land on the 2, 3 and 12.
In crapless craps the only winning number in the come-out roll is the 7 while all other numbers are turned into points. Removing the loss on the come-out roll is a great feature, but it’s important to keep in mind that it also halves your chances of winning on the come-out roll since the 11 has been removed.
Crapless Craps Odds
Calculating odds for craps is relatively easy, but the odds for crapless craps differ and unless you’re counting on being one of the luckiest craps players in the world, it’s important to know a couple of things before you play the game.
The odds of winning a game of crapless craps depend completely on the number that you wager. The average house edge for crapless craps is 5.38%, but again, the exact amount is affected by the number the player bets.
At a mere 1.52%, places 6 and 8 have the best house edge in crapless craps while 2 and 12 come with a 7.14%, and 3 and 22 a 6.30% house advantage.
