The ARIA Poker Classic Joined By $1 Million BetMGM Poker Championship

What is the ARIA Poker Classic?

The ARIA Poker Classic has been running at the ARIA Las Vegas for many years, offering varying buy-ins and a multitude of poker tournaments for different poker variants, including pot-limit Omaha, HORSE and Texas hold’em poker. The 2022 event will feature these variants, as well as other specific events, such as the $600 No-Limit Hold’em Seniors $100K GTD and the $400 No-Limit Hold’em Ladies $50K GTD, and a final Player’s Choice event that will be decided by a Twitter vote. 

The ARIA Poker Classic has a mix of nail-biting single and multi-day events. While speaking to cardschat.com, Paul Campbell, ARIA’s poker tournament manager, shared how there are many one-day events and the motivation behind them:

“Campbell said the focus on one-day events helps attendance at the APC, as many players don’t want to commit to two-day events as they tie up too much of their time. One-day events also benefit players with a day to spare between other tournaments they plan to play.”

“We like to be the venue where players can come when they’ve got a day off,” Campbell said. “They’re long days, but they’re good structures.”

This combination of single and multi-day competitive events has helped establish the ARIA Poker Classic as one of the best poker events in Las Vegas, and the addition of the $1 Million BetMGM Poker Championship has made it even better!

$1 Million BetMGM Poker Championship

The $1 Million BetMGM Poker Championship is a new and exciting event that guarantees a minimum payout of $1 million. There are two ways to enter this incredible poker tournament. Firstly, you can pay the buy-in for the Championship, which is $3,500, to secure your seat. The second option is to qualify through one of the online satellite qualifying events that run between May 8 and June 12, and if you win, you’ll be guaranteed a spot at the Championship. 

The director of poker at BetMGM, Luke Staudenmaier, had this to say about this new, prestigious live poker event:

“The first-ever BetMGM Poker Championship descends on Las Vegas during one of the most exciting times of the poker season. ARIA is a legendary poker brand and we’re thrilled that the Championship has become an integral part of this year’s Poker Classic. Through our relationship with MGM Resorts and its world-class US properties, we’ll continue to leverage event programming and connect with players both online and in their favorite poker rooms.”

The Championship event will take place between 23 and 26 June at the ARIA. Players who have the skills to make it to the final table will be filmed live at the ARIA’s cutting-edge PokerGO Studio and become a part of poker history. 

Qualifying for the $1 Million BetMGM Poker Championship

The qualifiers for the premier $1 Million BetMGM Poker Championship take place online between May 8 and June 12, 2022, as part of the ARIA Poker Classic. All players need to do to play is log into their BetMGM Poker account and pay their respective buy-ins using cash or Tournament Dollars. The total cost to join one of these qualifying events starts from as little as $5, up to a maximum of $500, depending on which option you prefer. 

Players who are interested in the $500 event also stand a chance to secure themselves a $6,000 BetMGM Poker Championship package, which includes $700 for travel expenses and free lodging at the ARIA for five nights.

Qualifying through any of these events will secure you a seat at the $3,500 live event, as well as an exclusive invite to a $25K Freeroll event that takes place before the Championship. This special event will be hosted by poker pros Darren Elias and Matt Berkey. 

Mystery Bounty event

Players will also have the option to take part in a $600 buy-in BetMGM Poker Mystery Bounty event that will take place on Saturday, June 25. In addition to the excitement of the main event, this bounty event is sure to have players on the edge of their seats.
