What is a SPINS Tournament?
Regular online poker tournament players are familiar with the sit-and-go format, which is a short-form tournament. Whether called a Sit-n-Go or SNG, the sit-and-go is a small event, typically one table with nine or ten players. An SNG can be a winner-take-all format or pay out the top two or three players.Â
Online poker players may also be familiar with fast-fold poker. Most poker sites offer fast poker, with rapidly escalating blinds or very short blind levels. It started as a popular choice for recreational players who didn’t have hours to spend on traditional levels and long tournaments, but pro players have fallen for the game, too.Â
BetMGM combined the sit-and-go game with fast-fold poker to create the SPINS Tournament. They are fast tournaments with three players. BetMGM Poker also added a jackpot component to increase the excitement factor. Here’s how it works:
- A SPINS Tournament begins when three players buy in for the same game.
- The software then spins to determine the payout, which can be anything from 2x the buy-in to 1,200 the buy-in.
- Play begins with three-minute levels and continues until one player wins.
- For multipliers 2x to 20x, the winner takes all of the prize money. Multipliers from 25x to 1,200x trigger a distribution to all three players based on their finishes.
