A list of our thrilling poker games

If you’re already up to speed with how to play poker, as well as the basic rules of poker tournaments, you’re ready to join in one of the exciting casual and competitive events we host for offline and online poker in the USA and Canada. However, not all of our poker games and tournaments are available in all areas where BetMGM operates. American and Canadian poker players will be able to enjoy online BetMGM tournaments in the following regions:

  • Michigan – MI
  • New Jersey – NJ
  • Ontario – ON
  • Pennsylvania – PA

Our exciting BetMGM $1 Million Poker Championship will also be held in person at the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, but qualifiers will take place online for those who think they can secure a seat through a satellite event.

Here’s a list of some of the poker action that you can take part in with BetMGM, together with the participating locations:

Progressive Knockout Tournament – MI, NJ

If you enjoy edge-of-your-seat high-stakes poker, progressive knockout tournaments – also known as bounty tournaments – should be on your competitive poker radar. In progressive knockout events, you get a 50% bounty for eliminating a player in cash, with the remaining 50% becoming part of your bounty. This exciting no-limit Texas Hold’em poker format is filled with action as players try to take home the biggest bounties.

SPINS Tournament – MI, PA

SPINS events add more mystery and variety to the traditional poker tournament by offering a variable prize pool. In a SPINS tournament, players can play for a buy-in as low as $1, or up to a maximum of $25, with larger buy-ins having larger prize pools compared to lower buy-ins. After you’ve paid your buy-in and the tournament is about to start, a randomly selected multiplier affects how many people will receive a prize, as well as how large their prize is.

The multipliers in our SPINS games are 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 100x, 200x and 1,200x. Multipliers 2x to 5x will only reward a first-place finish, 10x will reward both a first- and second-place finish, while 25x to 1,200x will reward a first-, second-and third-place finish. The prize money increases for each potential winner as the multiplier grows.

There’s nothing more disappointing than being stuck with terrible hole cards and having to wait for an entire game to end before you can join in again with a new hand. Thankfully you don’t have to worry about that with Fast Forward games. Simply use the game’s “Forward Fold” feature and you’ll instantly join in the action at another table, with players at your previous game only learning that you’ve called it quits when it’s your turn to play. No more waiting out bad hands with Fast Forward!

Hot Tables – ON

Hot Tables at BetMGM Ontario combine the fast-paced action of Fast Forward with the added bonus of extra cash being added to a game’s pot. That’s right! At any point during play, up to $1,200 could be added to the prize pot for the current round, upping the stakes and keeping players on the edge of their seats.

Hot Tables are available in five categories:  Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. Bronze and Silver tables will see the pot bonus going only to the winner of a hand, while Gold, Platinum and Diamond tables will give 50% of the pot bonus to the winner and split the remaining 50% among the other players.

Texas Hold’em – All regions

If Texas Hold’em is your favorite poker variant, you’ll be pleased to know that this variant of the game is available on all of BetMGM’s platforms. There are three versions for you to enjoy:

  • No-Limit: As you may have guessed from the name, No-Limit Hold’em means that players aren’t restricted in how much they wager during a game. Providing they have enough poker chips, they can wager as much as they want. This subtle difference from other versions of Texas Hold’em poker has made this particular version the most popular one in the world. It comes with its own risks, however, and you should always be aware of the bankroll you’re spending.
  • Fixed-Limit: In fixed-limit games, players are limited to not only how much they can wager but how often they can bet too. Pre-flop and on the flop, players are only allowed to bet the equivalent value of the big blind. This allowance doubles for the turn and river. Each round of poker has four betting opportunities in total: the bet, raise, re-raise and final raise.
  • Pot-Limit: In Pot-Limit games, players’ raises must match the value of the pot with whatever additional money they would have had to pay to call. However, it doesn’t feature the betting limits of fixed-limit poker, which means pots can grow in size quite rapidly during contested hands.

At BetMGM, you can find a variety of Texas Hold’em poker games to suit your experience level, as well as your appetite for risk.

Omaha – All regions

While not as popular as Texas Hold’em, Omaha is another poker variant that’s enjoyed by players all over North America. It plays similarly to Hold’em, but where it differs is that players get four hole cards instead of two. Players can also enjoy fixed-limit, pot-limit and

no-limit versions of the game, as well as Omaha Hi-Lo. In Hi-Lo, a showdown plays out differently from other poker variants. The player with the strongest hand in a showdown will only get 50% of the pot, while the best qualifying low hand gets the remainder of the pot.
