Three Card Poker Game Highlights

If you’re already familiar with the basic rules of poker, Three Card Poker is easy to pick up and play. Even if you’re entirely new to poker, it’s still a relatively simple game to learn, allowing you to get into the action quickly.

Speaking of speed, there’s no need to worry about other players taking their time in this poker game variant. It’s just you and the house, allowing you to play more hands than you would in a regular poker game. And since it’s just you and the dealer, you don’t need to worry about learning how to read bluffs, leaving you with more mental space to calculate your next move.

The final key highlight of this game is its low house edge, with players enjoying a return to player (RTP) of 97.99% when placing standard bets.

In order to have your winnings paid out in real money, you must be physically playing in one of the four states where BetMGM Casino operates legally, namely New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and West Virginia.

How To Play Three Card Poker

If you’re interested in the Three Card Poker rules, here’s how you play this exciting game.

To begin, you must first decide on your ante bet. The minimum is $0.10, up to a maximum of $100. Once you’ve placed your ante bet, you have to decide whether you want to place a wager on the Six Card Bonus or Pair Plus side bets (more detail on these side bets later in the review).

Once you’ve confirmed your bets, you and the dealer will each receive three cards. Your cards will then be revealed. Based on the strength of your hand, you can then decide to continue playing or to fold. If you decide to play, you must place a bet worth 1x your ante bet. If you decide to fold, you forfeit your ante bet.

The dealer’s cards are then revealed. If you have the higher value hand, you win. If the dealer has the higher value hand, the house wins. If there’s a tie, a push is declared, and neither hand wins.

You can then decide whether you want to rebet, that is, place the same bet again, or place a new wager by selecting new chips from the bottom of the virtual table. When you’re ready, select Deal to play your next hand.

Three Card Poker Game Features

Three Card Poker is one of many head-to-head poker games, but its main feature is the use of only three cards to decide a winner. This dramatically affects the speed of the game, allowing you to play many more hands than you would in other poker games.

Three Card Poker Bonuses and Jackpots

There are three great bonuses in Three Card Poker.

The first of these is the ante bonus, where you receive a bonus multiplied by a specific value for the following hands:

Straight flush +500
Three of a kind +400
Straight ±100

You’ll receive this bonus regardless of whether you have a winning hand. The only criteria for receiving this extra Three Card Poker payout is that you have a straight flush, three of a kind, or straight.

The remaining bonuses are side bets that can result in big wins. These two side bets are Six Card Bonus and Pair Plus.

The Six Card Bonus works by combining your hand with the house’s hand. This combined hand must use five of the six cards to create one of the following combinations in order to receive its matching payout:

Royal flush +100,000
Straight flush +20,000
Four of a kind +5,000
Full house +2,500
Flush +2,000
Straight +1,000
Three of a kind +500

The Pair Plus side bet is based on your hand only. This hand must also create one of the following combinations to receive its matching payout:

Straight flush +4,000
Three of a kind +3,000
Straight +600
Flush +300
Pair ±100

Both the Six Card Bonus and Pair Plus side bet are optional. You can place bets of up to $100 on both of these side bets.

How To Win Three Card Poker

In order to win when playing Three Card Poker, you need a stronger hand than the house. This is the ranking of the hands, from strongest to weakest:

  • Straight flush: Three cards of consecutive value and of the same suit.
  • Three of a kind: Three cards of the same value.
  • Straight: Three cards of consecutive value.
  • Flush: Three cards of the same suit.
  • Pair: Two cards of the same value.
  • High card: The highest value single card.

Three Card Poker Graphics and Design

Three Card Poker offers a clean experience when it comes to graphics and design. The virtual poker table is clearly illustrated so that all the information is easily accessible. Betting denominations are displayed at the bottom of the screen, with the various betting odds and payouts listed on either side of the playing field. On the far right are the four actions you can take with each turn: deal, rebet, clear, and undo. Stacks of chips are visible in rows at the top of the table.
